Cruising in Style: My Harmony of the Seas Ship Review

A few weeks ago I attended my host agency's annual conference aboard Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas. This was my first time on one of Royal's Oasis class ships and wow, was I impressed!! She is an excellent choice for families looking for a fun and memorable vacation. With a variety of activities and amenities on board, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

First, let's talk about the food! Harmony of the Seas offers a variety of dining options, from specialty restaurants to casual dining venues. Guests can enjoy specialty meals at Jamie's Italian, Wonderland, or Izumi Hibachi and Sushi, to name a few. But their main dining room had wonderful meals with menus that changed every night and I was happy with everything I tried, so one can eat there every night and not get bored at all.

The ship also features a range of entertainment options, including Broadway-style shows, live music, a casino, and comedy acts. We caught Columbus, The Musical!, a tale about Marvin, Christopher's unknown distant cousin. The other nightly show we saw was The Fine Line, which can be seen only in Royal's AquaTheater. The show consists of high dive acts, aerial artists, street dancers on water, and a terrifying highline act. It is not to be missed. But don't sit in the splash zone if you don't want to get wet!!

For those seeking adventure, the ship boasts a zip line, two water slides, rock climbing wall, and two surfing simulators. The Abyss slide, the tallest slide at sea, is found aft of the ship on deck sixteen where riders twist and turn down ten stories to the Boardwalk on deck six. I was not brave enough to try it, but it looks like fun for those who are.

Relaxation can be found at the Vitality Spa or in one of the ship's many pools and hot tubs. Solarium, the adult only section found aft of ship spans multiple levels to provide plenty of seats and loungers and makes for the perfect spot for some quiet. I spent an afternoon there with my book enjoying the sunshine. Another favorite spot of mine was Central Park, an outdoor space designed to be like a real park. It has pathways lined with real trees and foliage-only the bird sounds were fake, along with restaurants, an upscale watch store, and multiple specialty dining restaurants. My favorite feature was the live music played nightly so you could grab a drink from the Trellis Bar there and find a seat to enjoy the music and ambiance.

Harmony of the Seas truly has something for everyone to enjoy. She is currently sailing Caribbean itineraries from Miami, but will move to Galveston this November all the way through April 2025. It's never too early to book your cruise for best pricing and availability She is a popular ship that sells out most, if not all, of her sailings and we are lucky to get her in Galveston.
